The Pre-operation Test panel runs a 10-parameter pre-anesthetic profile from a single whole-blood, serum, or plasma sample on the Seamaty QT3 (SMT-120VP) analyzer — screening liver, kidney, muscle/cardiac, protein, and glucose status before anesthesia, including the creatine kinase and lactate dehydrogenase the common pre-surgical panels leave out.
What this disc measures
10 parameters — 9 directly measured analytes plus 1 calculated index — grouped by system:
- Liver & hepatobiliary: alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alkaline phosphatase (ALP)
- Muscle & cardiac: creatine kinase (CK), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH)
- Kidney & renal: blood urea nitrogen (BUN), creatinine (CREA), BUN/creatinine ratio*
- Protein: total protein (TP)
- Metabolic & glucose: glucose (GLU)
*The BUN/creatinine ratio is derived automatically and reported with the panel.
How the panel compares
Coverage against each competitor's closest comparable pre-surgical/NSAID panel. This disc adds creatine kinase and lactate dehydrogenase that the common pre-surgical panels omit. IDEXX's NSAID 7 adds its SDMA renal biomarker but omits glucose and total protein.
